This past week marked Koen's first canoe trip AND his first trip to the cottage. He was a trooper for the six hours of driving on the way there (we won't mention the way home!) and took to the water like a baby duckling - that is if baby ducklings fall asleep the second they get in a canoe and sleep the whole way to the campsite. He really seemed so happy out in the woods - enjoying the fresh air, entranced by the fire, and watching his brother and cousins playing and splashing. He was one happy camper! The canoe trip was fantastic and we were all just as excited to get to the cottage for a couple of days of rest and relaxation. Koen was a little disappointed that he had to put on his life jacket - AGAIN - but got over once we arrived. We spent the next couple of days playing, dipping our toes in the water and visiting with family - it was wonderful. We plan to get back up to the cottage at some point this summer and we can't wait!
